DRAWSTRING CLOSURES
Patent Nos. 3132390,4156574,4288891,6189186,6457214
& 8321999
'If you must say Made in the U.S.A.'

Tying (or untying) knots is obsolete!
Substitute for knots on most apparel, household and industrial cord applications
Easily eliminate unwanted slack on cords from 1/16" to 1/4" diameter
Great for seniors, arthritics or the knot-challenged
Proudly manufactured in the USA since 1961
As one of the original American drawstring closure manufacturers, Progresco continues to make the B-LOK® line entirely in America. As you may be aware, most molded cord closures are now made overseas. While they are generally a little less expensive, they also generally do not have the fit and polish of the original, domestically-made B-LOK® line, which is now finding application on higher-end products being advertised as made in the U.S.A. Here are the latest available models with OEM installation instructions: PROUDLY MADE IN U.S.A.
PROUDLY MADE IN U.S.A.
B-LOK®-1A
Made of soft elastomeric material in sparkling see-thru colors, recommended for the dual ends of a drawstring on hats, caps, parkas or other wearing apparel near or about one's face. To install, gently squeeze the 'ears' radially inward, insert a small darning hook (not needed for tipped** cords) thru one of the enlarged holes, pull the folded end of one of the cords back thru the hole, release the hook, slide the lock to the desired location and release the ears to lock. Repeat for the other cord. Because this lock has 2 separate cord holes, unlike the competition that has only 1 larger hole or slot, you can tie off the cord ends to prevent loss of the lock. (To unlock, gently squeeze the ears again and slide the lock away from the load.) Recommended Load on the Lock* ≤ 1Lb. 1/16" ≤ Cord Size ≤ 1/8", based on the recommended soft flexible braided cords.
B-LOK®-1A
B-LOK®-2L
Thanks to a new integral 'shim rib' on the Slide, now stays locked even when the cords are in a no-load condition. Made of Delrin (Acetal) stocked in opaque Black or White colors (custom logo inserts can be made), recommended for dual ends of a drawstring on flotation vests, small laundry or duffle bags and miscellaneous wearing apparel. To install, thread the cords thru the Cage at the end opposite to the tab. Snap the Slide into the Cage at the tab end. Slide the lock against the load and push the Slide inward to lock. Firmly tie the ends of the cord together. (To unlock, hold the Cage with one hand, pull the Slide outward with the other and slide the whole lock away from the load as desired.) Recommended Load on the Lock* ≤ 25Lbs. 1/16" ≤ Cord Size ≤ 1/8", based on the recommended soft flexible braided cords.

Stocked in opaque Black or White Polypro (custom logo inserts can be made) recommended for the dual ends of a drawstring on larger bags, including laundry, duffel & sleeping, tiedowns for luggage, ladders & other cargo, soccerball tethers, etc. Also, the end of the Slide can accommodate a lanyard for remote opening or discharge. To install, thread cords thru throat of Cage. Snap Slide into Cage as shown. To enhance the self-locking action and retaining the cords in the locked position even without tension in the cords, optionally thread the cords thru the side channels provided in the new ringpull.
Recommended Load on the Lock* ≤ 50Lbs. 1/8" ≤ Cord Size ≤ 3/16", based on the recommended soft flexible braided cords.
B-LOK®-3C
B-LOK®-4A (Switched from ABS to DELRIN® (Acetal) to better withstand the professional laundering environment)
The cord holes are now larger and always stay in alignment for easier installation of the cords. Has a bigger spring housing to eliminate over-stressing, thus maintaining the same locking power over the life of the lock. And the spring housing 'balances' the plunger, providing the most distinctive-looking ball-type lock on the market. The first molded spherical spring-loaded cord lock on the market and still the strongest locking one, made in Acetal (so you don't have to remove prior to laundering) stocked in opaque Black (custom logo inserts can be made), recommended for the single or double ends of a drawstring on miscellaneous wearing apparel or bags. To install, depress the plunger until the holes line up, thread a small darning hook (not needed for tipped cords**) thru the holes, pull the folded end of the cord back thru the holes, release the hook, slide the lock to the desired location and release the plunger to lock. Firmly tie off the free ends of the cord. (To unlock, just reverse this procedure in the obvious manner.) Recommended Load on the Lock* ≤ 7Lbs. 1/16" ≤ Cord Size ≤ 1/8", based on the recommended soft flexible braided cords.

Essentially a larger, heavier-duty version of the -3C, but stocked in opaque UV-stabilized Manila Polypro only (custom logo inserts can be made). This is the latest version of the original B-LOK-5 drawcord closure. Now resists breaking under prolonged high-load and high-heat conditions better than all previous models. And now least likely to accidentally unlock. CAUTION: Beware of the B-LOK-3A,5 copycat parts (confusingly referred to as B-LOCK-03,05) made outside the U.S. These parts do not have the same fit and polish, strength and reliability as the original and latest Progresco B-LOK closures. As everyone knows, copycat parts are never as good as the parts made by the original manufacturer, characteristically being made of substandard materials and production techniques. Installs same as -3C model. (Remember, optionally threading the cords thru the side channels in the ringpull further aids the self-locking action and retaining the cords in the locked position even without tension in the cords.) As before, the end of the Slide can accommodate a lanyard for remote opening. Recommended for large bulk bags, rigging for sailboats, tents & trees and other heavy-duty industrial applications. Recommended Load on the Lock* ≤ 100Lbs. 3/16" ≤ Cord Size ≤ 1/4", based on the recommended soft flexible braided cords.

B-LOK®-6 (LIGHTER WEIGHT, LOWER COST SUBSTITUTE FOR METAL POSTAL ROPE LOCK)

THE BEST PLASTIC TAMPER-RESISTANT ROPE LOCK FOR MAIL BAGS, BANK BAGS AND COURIER BAGS

NOTE:
The original drawstring bags are beginning to make a comeback against the current trend of zipper bags, which users are discovering have to be thrown out when the zippers are typically damaged in normal shipping and handling. But the drawstrings can be easily replaced without having to throw away the whole bags. So the sooner you adopt the inexpensive plastic B-LOK-6, the sooner you will begin saving.

INSTRUCTIONS: TO INSTALL, starting with the Slide completely separated from the Cage, thread the cords thru the Cage. Insert the Slide in the Cage to the intermediate position, confirmed by the 'clicking' sound. TO OPERATE, slip the standard-size address label (1"x3.3") into the recessed area of the Cage. Holding the cords firmly in one hand, use the other to slide the Lock all the way inward so as to completely close the mouth of the bag and then push the Slide all the way into the Cage. Insert the desired common padlock or security seal. To unlock and loosen, remove the padlock or security seal and flick the head of the Slide outward with your thumb. Recommended Load on the Lock* ≤ 100Lbs. Cord Size = 3/16", based on braided cotton cord currently used by the USPS.

NOTE: Please be advised that Progresco Company now shares the same office facilities, including the same Tel lines, with Odyssey Mfg. Progresco will continue to manufacture and sell the B-LOKs with custom logos directly to OEMs requiring them. However, OEMs only needing the standard, off-the-shelf versions should continue to order them from the nearest authorized stocking distributors. Click on link on the right (business is done with them 'offline' only).

*It is the responsibility of the end-using customer to determine the suitability of these locks for the specific application. Progresco's liability shall be limited to replacing parts due to faulty materials or workmanship.

*
*If you are interested in switching to the ideal recommended soft, pre-cut, tipped cords at likely a lower cost than you are currently paying for cords that you are now hot-cutting or tying knots in, then we suggest you contact Bill Magill of Lea & Sachs at 877-296-7500 (toll free). In particular, we recommend style #4527 with 3/8" tips for the B-LOK-3C, with 3/4" tips for the B-LOK-1A, - 4A, and style #4531-M with 1/2" tips for the B-LOK-5CHD. These are normally provided in White Polyester, but you can specify Polypropylene, Nylon, etc in most any common color.

*
**For 50-unit purchase. Due to its much lighter weight, the
B-LOK-6 will pay for itself in postage savings after just a few trips.
